Soaring Eagle Productions was established by Matt U'Brien following the successful podcast and social media coverage of the 3 month, 2670km Heart 2 Heart Walk in 2023.  

 

Matt got involved in the walk during his recovery from his own mental health related early retirement from his emergency services career, during which time he was finding validation from others stories on podcasts about their experiences.  As most of the available podcast content was of military veterans stories at the time, Matt decided to establish the 'Heart 2 Heart Walk Podcast' to focus on Australian First Responder stories and promote the walk, raising awareness of the mental health issues faced by so many emergency services workers.  

 

This expanded to recording the foundations of the 'One Step Closer' documentary on this epic walk that quickly developed into a personal determination to continue story telling through video, photo and podcasts on the completion of the journey.  

 

Soaring Eagle Productions represents a number of factors close to Matts heart, the Wedgetail Eagle is a majestic, powerful and free animal that has been admired his whole life, and is a symbol representative of his Policing career, and its spread wings soaring high in the sky shows his efforts to re-invent himself post his careers in policing, firefighting and emergency management to fly once again.
